Which is Better?

Does it feel better to start a project or finish a project? At first most would say it feels best to finish a project. After all, when you're done you have a completed knit object to wear or gift or donate and there is a sense of satisfaction when you have completed something. However under the theory that "actions speak louder than words," I'm going to say that most of us like starting projects more than finishing them. That would explain why I have so many projects on the needles and so many UFOs. It is also my excuse for starting yet another project! We are on vacation in Oregon and I brought more projects with me than one could ever finish in a week. Even if I planned to spend the entire week knitting which was certainly not the plan. So of course I took a visit to the yarn store up here to buy yarn for a hat (don't say anything) and came back with an entire bag full. And then to make matters worse I took some of the gorgeous Noro I purchased and cast on a Sophie bag for my friend. What was I thinking? We'll here it is riding the whale at the lake while we were out on the Sea Doos. And here is just a gorgeous photo of the Deschutes river for you to enjoy. I love it up here!

What a good question I just posted my unfished projects on my blog and now that I think about it.. I like the excitement of starting something new.. but then I think some more and finishing a project is just as satisfying I think getting through the middle of a project is the true test of a knitter. *LOL* sadly I am lacking due to all the unfished projects I have going on.

Love the colors of that hat.I am like you though I think I have about 4 different projects on the needle right now. I have no clue if there will actually get finished but I do enjoy casting on.
Have a wonderful vacation.

Great question. Like you said, at the beginning, a finished project was so exciting!! But now my mind is racing with all the different projects I want to knit! Acquiring the yarn and making the plans seems to be what I enjoy most!! (Casting them on seems to mean I really meant it.. even if I don't actually knit them.....) I think it's part of the slippery slope to a serious knitting addiction.

Have a great vacation. Looks like a lovely spot to knit!!

I call it the "the something shiny syndrome" - You know you're walking down the beach and something really, really pretty catches your eye - then you start knitting and realize its just another knitting project,so you take a walk along the beach.....
