I have been working on my Elann Pacific Waves Shawl for many, many weeks. I have not been working on it full time for sure but it is the shawl that never seems to end. I really like how it is turning out but wonder if I'll ever get to wear it! It started with casting on 541 stitches which in and of itself was quite the challenge. Then it reduces by about 2 stitches each time you knit a row. I've knit about 50 rows by now so it's now only 441 stitches per row! As funny as it seems, that really makes the rows go much faster - but not quite fast enough. I think about 20 more rows and I'll be done. I will hang in there - I will!

Oh my word! I can't even imagine casting on that many stitches!! What length cable are you using??? It is going to be gorgeous! Hang in there!
Oooo I had one of those projects - from a Folk Shawls books. Trust me it does eventually end, and it will come out of nowhere. Suddenly you will look down and be astonished to find you only have 5 rows left. And you will finnish and wear it everwhere and everyone will comment on it and you will be happy.
Wow, those colors are SO gorgeous! I can't imagine casting on that much, but I'd love to make something like that myself, so I guess I'd have to do it one day. At some point, can you please post the length cable you used for this project? Thanks!
Can't wait to see it finished!
Oh crum, now you've got the horrid camp song "This is the song that never ends" going in my brain.
like alison - i heard music! "this is the shawl that never ends... it just goes on and on my friends... someone started knitting it not knowing what it was... and they'll continue knitting forever just because..."
(pretty colours! ; ))
It's going to be a great shawl! Those colors are fabulous.
How long does it take to recount that many stitches and make sure it's right? Keep at it - it's obviously going to be beautiful!
It looks nice! I am trying to finish a wrap for my daughter's wedding on 9/22!! I took the idea from a scarf.. cast on 59 (multi of 3, plus 2); k1 *k1, YO, K2tog*K1; it has "stripes" kinda.. i don't think i'll get it done in tme.. can't imagine casting on that many stitches.. did you go bonkers??
arrrghhh that song!!!!!
but the shawl is coming along beautifully!
Hang in there...it's really beautiful :)
that is going to look beautiful once complete. wow!
That color is gorgeous! I know what you mean about the length of the rows...When I designed it, it seemed to go on FOREVER! It does come out beautifully, though!!
