Cotton good for Pickin'

From the amount of cotton I have purchased on this vacation you would think that California is devoid of cotton. Well to some extent that may be true. The stores near me never have Sugar & Cream or Peaches & Cream and the Lions Brand cotton can't be found in many colors. NOT the case in Oregon however and thus I have gone a little wild. You see I want to make some of those "warsh rags" from the Mason Dixon book. I hear they are addicting and I want to be prepared. Ummmm - maybe I'm a bit too prepared? What you see in the photo isn't even all the cotton I purchased. Hmmmm - anyone got any good patterns using cotton???

OHHH. I just got some hemp in Grass Valley to make some washrags and a body scrubby thing! I'll send you a pattern for washrags. Also, I have a box here by my desk already to send to you. It's been here for a week - I am BAD. I will get it out to you tomorrow and confirm via email. Some other goodies on my sofa waiting for a box to send to you & the big "reveal" is coming soon!!

I am using Egyptian Cotton for the Ballet Camisole from Magknits. It is turning out really pretty so far, and it is an easy knit!

Everyone should have a tree in their yard that grows cotton like that!

Take advantage of all those yummy colors and do a two-color warshrag using variations of slip stitches. Knitting reference books have lots of them. I used a pattern called 'ladders'. Enjoy the cotton!
